Over 100 Iranians Face Asset Seizures Over Alleged Israel Links
Iran has ordered the seizure of assets of more than 100 people accused of supporting Israel abroad, officials said.
Tehran’s prosecutor has ordered the seizure of assets and freezing of bank accounts belonging to more than 100 people accused of supporting Israel from outside Iran, as the war enters a more volatile phase.
Those targeted reportedly include actors, athletes and journalists accused by Iranian authorities of links to Israel, in what appears to be part of a wider domestic crackdown during the conflict.
At the same time, Iran’s Fars news agency quoted an unnamed security official as warning of a “big surprise” for the United States and Israel, saying Tehran was advancing according to its own war plans and a “special target bank.”
The official dismissed U.S. threats, including President Donald Trump’s 48-hour ultimatum as ineffective, arguing that Washington’s strategy of a quick and decisive campaign had failed. Trump warned Saturday that Iran had 48 hours to “make a deal” or face “hell,” while Tehran rejected the ultimatum.
Iranian officials also said recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on the Mahshahr petrochemical zone killed five people and wounded 170 others, underscoring the growing civilian and industrial toll of the war.
The asset seizures come as Iranian authorities intensify pressure on perceived internal opponents and suspected foreign-linked networks, reflecting how the conflict is increasingly shaping domestic security measures as well as battlefield decisions.
The current war has expanded far beyond direct military targets, with strikes hitting energy, transport and industrial infrastructure across Iran and elsewhere in the region. That has fueled fears of a prolonged confrontation with broader economic and humanitarian consequences.
The latest move suggests Tehran is preparing for a longer conflict, combining military threats abroad with tighter control at home as it seeks to deter pressure from Washington and Israel.
