Thomas Doherty Didn't Want to Do 'Gossip Girl' at First, Thought It Would Be Like 'Euphoria'
Thomas Doherty is opening up about being cast in the Gossip Girl revival series on HBO Max and why he didn’t want to do the show at first.

“I was excited,” Thomas began, before explaining his true thoughts.
“I… I was told it would be more kind of, because I wasn’t that keen at the time to do Gossip Girl, I was told it’d be more kind of Euphoria sprinkled into it,” Thomas said. “Again, at 24, finding my feet, comparing how my career should, what I should be, how I should been seen, all that ego stuff.”
Thomas added, “You always compare yourself to other actors, which is the worst thing you can possibly do. You look at amazing actors like [Timothee] Chalamet or whoever else was kicking around then and they’re doing these amazing films that are going to awards seasons and stuff. And so then your ego flares up and you’re insecure and you’re like, ‘Oh no, I want to be cool. And I want to do all this cool stuff.’”
“It was an incredible job and an incredible opportunity and I met incredible people. I have best friends to this day,” Thomas said, adding that Eli Brown is still one of his closest friends.
