Zara Larsson is opening up about the fallout from her recent comments about abortion and how she lost a $3 million brand deal because of what she said.
The 28-year-old “Lush Life” singer explained the importance of using her voice while speaking to The Guardian for a new interview.
“Maybe pop stars aren’t thought of as people taking a stand,” she said. “But if you constantly go against your inner compass and morals, you lose yourself as well.”

A fan posted to TikTok recently that she didn’t know she was pregnant while attending one of Zara‘s shows, “but at least my baby got to hear midnight sun before I aborted it.”
Zara herself took to the comments after being tagged in the video. “I killed the performance and then you killed it after the performance purrrrrr,” she wrote.
Zara later made a video addressing her comments and why she stood by what she said.
“I lost $3 million, which is the biggest brand deal I’d been offered in my life,” she told The Guardian. “I was genuinely like: OK, losers!”
Zara was asked to reveal the brand and she toyed with the idea of giving up the name, but didn’t. “I feel like there’s going to be a moment for that later,” she said. “I’ll call you.”
In the same interview, Zara threw some shade at a huge pop star.
