'Grey's Anatomy' Renewed for Season 23 After Kim Raver & Kevin McKidd's Confirmed Exits
Grey’s Anatomy is officially getting a 23rd season from ABC!
The medical drama is set to have its historic season air in the 2026-2027 TV season. By the way, Grey’s is ABC’s longest running primetime series. With its renewal, the Shonda Rhimes show will likely pass 475 episodes in the coming season.

As impressive is three of the show’s original stars are still on the show: Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr still appear.
Season 23 is expected to debut in the Fall. Grey’s has aired on Thursday nights for years.
As for the cast for season 23, we do have some news there. It was previously confirmed that Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver would be exiting the show at the end of season 22. The 52-year-old actor has starred as Dr. Owen Hunt since season five, while the 57-year-old actress has played Dr. Teddy Altman off and on since season six. They have both also stepped behind the camera and served as director on several episodes.
Also renewed by ABC in recent weeks was 911, 911: Nashville, Abbott Elementary and High Potential.
