Hunt for knifeman after man, 26, stabbed to death five minutes from Houses of Parliament
Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in central London last night.
The victim, aged 26, was found with knife wounds in Abbey Orchard Street, Westminster, shortly after 10pm on Friday.
Police officers gave first aid before paramedics rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead there soon after.
The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
No arrests have been made.
Detective Superintendent Dean Lanfear said: ‘We understand the concern this incident may cause.
‘Officers are on patrol in the area to provide a visual deterrent and to offer reassurance to residents.
‘If anyone saw or has any information about what happened last night, please contact police.
‘Even the slightest bit of information can help.’
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, the Met Police said.
