Major violence erupted in Basanti, South 24 Parganas. Miscreants allegedly attacked BJP workers and police during a campaign event. Several police personnel and BJP workers sustained injuries. Eight miscreants were arrested. A large contingent of CAPF and police forces arrived at the scene.
