Man Injured in Alan Ritchson Fight Addresses Viral Altercation
In a video originally obtained by TMZ, actor Alan Ritchson appeared to get into a fight with another man in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The video shows Ritchson appearing to punch the man in the torso after leaving his motorcycle. Two children, also on bikes of their own, looked on as the men fought.
Ritchson and the two children were all wearing helmets, and the altercation appears to have started over the method in which Ritchson was using his motorcycle.
The other man in the video identified himself to TMZ as Ronnie Taylor, and he explained in an interview how the situation escalated and ended up becoming physical.
Taylor tells TMZ that he left his driveway to confront Ritchson on Saturday after the actor drove the bike through the neighborhood at a high speed. Taylor says he flipped the middle finger at Ritchson, who returned the gesture.
Taylor, Ritchson's Exchange Turns Physical
The next day, Taylor noticed Ritchson on his motorcycle once again, this time with the two children. Taylor says he asked Ritchson "Can you [expletive]-ing stop this please?," and the situation escalated to what's seen in the video.
Taylor told police that Ritchson punched him in the face and torso, saying that he was struck at least four times while on the ground. Taylor says the incident has caused him to suffer bruises and swelling, but he did not elect to visit a hospital.
Taylor says he didn't know that Ritchson was an actor, and that he was simply attempting to look out for others in the neighborhood as he believed Ritchson was speeding through the street. He says that he's also a rider, and happened to be working on his own motorcycle when he saw Ritchson and decided to confront him.
According to TMZ, an investigation into the incident is being conducted, but no arrests have been made.
