Zendaya Surprises Vegas Couple at A24 Wedding Chapel Event
Zendaya surprised a couple getting married at Las Vegas' famed Chapel of the Bells as part of the promotional tour for her upcoming film The Drama.
The surprise appearance came as part of A24's promotional campaign for their upcoming film. The studio took over a Las Vegas chapel for one day only on March 14, inviting couples to apply for a chance to wed in what they promised would be a ceremony that feels "spontaneous, glamorous and just a little bit dangerous." Couples who booked the experience were told to expect "a few surprises that'd make even Elvis blush." What they did not anticipate was for the film's actual star to walk through the door.
How a Movie Stunt Turned Into a Real Vegas Wedding
According to social media posts from the event, Zendaya peeked her head into the ceremony and surprised the attendees, drawing screams and cheers from the crowd. She served as a witness for the couple's ceremony and posed for photos with the newlyweds, their friends and family after the vows were exchanged.
The Challengers actress arrived in a golden ruched sleeveless blouse paired with a tiered gold and black patterned knee length skirt and brown stilettos. But the detail that caught the attention of eagle eyed fans was the thin gold band paired with her silver engagement ring around her ring finger, which did nothing to quiet the ongoing rumors about a supposed secret wedding with Spider-Man co-star, Tom Holland.
Alana Haim's Surprise DJ Set Steals the Show
Zendaya was not the only celebrity in attendance. Alana Haim, who plays a friend of the couple in The Drama, served as the wedding DJ, spinning tracks like Pitbull's "Give Me Everything" and The Dixie Cups' "Chapel of Love."
Haim also posted about the experience on social media with the caption, "your new favorite wedding dj," sharing photos of herself with Zendaya and the happy couple.
The wedding was documented on A24 and The Drama's Instagram stories, as well as shared across social platforms by the bride and groom's friends and family. Wedding favors included The Drama-themed t-shirts and kitschy hoodies featuring older photos of Robert Pattinson and Zendaya.
The Other Wedding That Probably Already Happened
At one point during the signing of the witness papers, Zendaya joked about doing a “last name reveal”, prompting speculations about her taking Holland's last name. However, it is likely that she was referencing the running joke about her mononym, joking that she does not have a last name.
The surprise appearance comes the same month that her stylist and longtime friend Law Roach announced that Zendaya was already married.
“The wedding has already happened,” Roach told Access Hollywood at the 32nd Actor Awards. “You missed it.”
Her inner circle has not been shy about dropping hints. Zendaya's mother, Claire Stoermer, later reposted Roach's video with the caption, "The laugh,” though some assumed she was implying the fashion designer was merely joking about the alleged nuptials.
Liza Colón Zayas, her Spider-Man Brand New Day co-star and The Bear alum, added to the speculation by tagging the couple in an Instagram story repost about them being married. Most recently, on March 12, a video captured by People Magazine at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood ceremony showed Zendaya in a bridal white dress taking the jokes in stride. Black-ish star Marsai Martin joked that Zendaya likes to keep her life private, telling her to "just give me a little nod or a signal." Zendaya responded by flashing her rings.
