Jelly Roll's Wife Bunnie Xo Is Getting a Movie — and the Producer Behind Yellowstone Is Making It
Bunnie Xo's life story is heading to the big screen.
101 Studios, the production company behind Yellowstone, acquired the rights to Bunnie's memoir Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic and is fast-tracking a film adaptation under its new first-look deal with Universal Pictures. The book, which was published last month, is currently in its third week on the New York Times Best Sellers List.
What is Bunnie Xo's Memoir About?
The memoir follows Bunnie Xo — real name Alisa DeFord — from a childhood in a Las Vegas trailer park to building a media empire as the founder of Dumb Blonde Productions and host of the Dumb Blonde podcast, which draws over one million downloads a month. She is also married to country rapper Jelly Roll.
"Writing this book was one of the most vulnerable things I've ever done," Bunnie Xo said. "Seeing it now move from the pages to the big screen is something I never could have imagined. If this film does anything, I hope it reminds people that your past nor your trauma can ever define you — your comeback does."

101 Studios CEO David Glasser described her story as the kind of raw, unfiltered journey that audiences immediately connect with. The studio says the film will highlight the resilience and humor that run throughout the book alongside its themes of redemption.
101 Studios also has Marshals, the Yellowstone spinoff starring Luke Grimes, on its current slate.
