Longtime Friends Sting & Shaggy Promote Upcoming Show 'The Last Ship' with Opera House Photo Call

Sting and Shaggy will be performing on the Metropolitan Opera stage later this year and they just visited the venue to promote their upcoming show, The Last Ship.

The longtime friends posed for a photo call on Thursday afternoon (March 12) in New York City.

Sting and Shaggy will star in the revised version of Sting’s classic musical The Last Ship, which previously played on Broadway back in 2014. Their appearance at the opera house comes at a time when opera is getting a lot of attention due to comments made by Timothee Chalamet recently.

Rooted in his own childhood in the British shipbuilding town of Wallsend, The Last Ship tells the story of a community of shipbuilders in the northeast of England, faced with the closure of their shipyard—the heart of their existence. Sting plays Jackie White, the shipyard’s foreman, whose health is failing just as his leadership is needed most.

The show will be performed from June 9 through June 14 at the Metropolitan Opera, following productions around the world in cities like Paris and Brisbane. Get tickets now!
