Boeing Boeing: a play of hilarious twists and misunderstandings
Some comic relief is much needed these days. Thankfully, the island’s cultural scene is alive, bringing blissful moments of escape and entertainment. Theatro Ena presents a legendary comedy of the 1960s, making its 2026 premiere this Saturday.
The theatrical production, Boeing Boeing is full of twists, turns, misunderstandings and nonstop laughter. Originally by Marc Camoletti, the play returns in a Greek-language production with a fresh perspective and endless humour to entertain Nicosia audiences.
At the centre of the story is Bernard, a committed bachelor who has managed to maintain relationships simultaneously with three flight attendants from different airlines. With perfect precision and strategy, he relies on their flight schedules so that his girlfriends never meet. But when the flight timetables suddenly change, his perfectly organised plan begins to fall apart.
Robert, an old friend who arrives in Paris, and Bernard’s housekeeper, Bertha, unwillingly become caught up in a whirlwind of misunderstandings, trying to save the situation while making things even more radical. The result is a storm of comic clashes, sudden arrivals, unlikely coincidences and hilarious twists.
