Trump explicitly threatens to take away choice from Texas GOP voters: 'Is that fair?'

President Donald Trump has publicly mused about canceling elections, but he's threatening to do just that in the Texas Republican Senate primary.

The 79-year-old president did not endorse a candidate in Tuesday's GOP primary between incumbent Sen. John Cornyn and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, but that race is headed to a May 26 runoff after neither candidate won over 50 percent of the vote – so now Trump wants to take the choice away from Texas Republican voters.

"The Republican Primary Race for the United States Senate in the Great State of Texas, a State I LOVE and won 3 times in Record Numbers (the HIGHEST vote ever recorded, by far!!!), cannot, for the good of the Party, and our Country, itself, be allowed to go on any longer," Trump posted Wednesday afternoon. "IT MUST STOP NOW!"

Texas state Rep. James Talarico defeated U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic primary, and he would face off against the winner of the Cornyn-Paxton runoff election that Trump is threatening to call off.

"We have an easy to beat, Radical Left Opponent, and we have to TOTALLY FOCUS on putting him away, quickly and decisively!" Trump posted. "Both John and Ken ran great races, but not good enough. Now, this one, must be PERFECT!"

Trump promised an endorsement on the condition that the loser of his unilateral choice drop out and take away the choice from GOP voters in Texas.

"My Endorsements within the Republican Party have been virtually insurmountable!" he said. "It is such an honor to realize and say that almost everyone I Endorse WINS, and wins by a lot, especially in Texas! I will be making my Endorsement soon, and will be asking the candidate that I don’t Endorse to immediately DROP OUT OF THE RACE!"

"Is that fair? We must win in November!!!" Trump added. "Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP."
