Maritime procurement deal focuses on digital tools and cost visibility
Noatum CSM, a ship management joint venture established between AD Ports Group and Columbia Group, has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with GP General Procurement Company Limited, known as GenPro, in a move designed to support sourcing and supply activities across the JV’s managed fleet.
More specifically, the agreement, signed in Dubai, establishes a structured commercial framework under which GenPro would support Noatum CSM through its supplier network, framework contracts and governance processes.
In this way, the collaboration is intended not only to streamline purchasing structures, but also to strengthen supplier oversight and ensure closer alignment with regulatory, compliance and sustainability requirements across fleet operations.
At the same time, and as part of this structured approach, Noatum CSM will gain access to GenPro’s contractually compliant supplier ecosystem.
This, in turn, is expected to enable consolidated purchasing structures, facilitate market benchmarking and improve transparency across supply activities.
Furthermore, the scope of the collaboration extends to digital tools and specialist support services, thereby supporting operational efficiency, cost visibility and tighter control across key spend categories, including lubricants.
Importantly, the collaboration is underpinned by clear governance and accountability structures. As such, auditable processes are embedded within the framework, supporting ESG alignment, enhancing supply chain resilience and reinforcing regulatory compliance.
Against this backdrop, Julian Panter, Chief Executive Officer of Noatum CSM, said the collaboration “reinforces our commitment to structured purchasing, governance and ESG alignment.”
He added that access to compliant supplier frameworks and auditable processes supports both operational efficiency and supply chain resilience across the fleet, thereby strengthening the company’s overall commercial discipline.
Similarly, Maria Theodosiou, Managing Director of GenPro, said she was pleased to support Noatum CSM through a “structured and transparent commercial framework.”
She further explained that GenPro’s role is to provide governance, supplier oversight and data led insight, while aligning with Noatum CSM’s operational requirements and strategic direction.”
Looking ahead, the collaboration will be implemented on a phased basis, with an initial focus on supplier performance monitoring, quality assurance and compliance oversight. In doing so, both parties confirmed that the agreement reflects a shared approach to disciplined commercial management, risk mitigation and long term value creation.
