'Bridgerton' Showrunner Has Big Plans for Simone Ashley's Future Involvement in the Show

Bridgerton showrunner Jess Brownell has big plans for bringing Simone Ashley back into the Ton in a significant way.

As a fan of the relationship between Simone‘s character Kate and Claudia Jessie‘s Eloise, Brownell says she envisions Kate playing a big part in the Eloise-centric season that is forthcoming.

It was previously confirmed that seasons 5 and 6 will revolve around Eloise and Hannah Dodd‘s Francesca, though it’s unclear who will be first.

“I also am really partial to the relationship between Kate and Eloise. That’s something that I’d like to continue following in the future,” Brownell tells People. “So when we eventually get to Eloise’s season, Kate is someone I’ll be very interested to have around, if I can.”

It’s not just Kate she’d like to bring back either, but all the former leads.

“I would love to one day have all of the leads come back. I think it would be really meaningful, especially when I think forward to Hyacinth and Gregory’s story,” she shared, referencing the characters played by Florence Hunt and Will Tilston.

She continued, “In particular, Daphne and Anthony, and their partners, are such paternal/maternal figures for those younger kids, so I would be very interested in trying to get some of those previous leads back for the later run of the show.”

Brownell previously spoke about bringing Daphne and Simon back and whether or not she would consider recasting the roles played by Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page.
