Cyprus Stock Exchange announces seminar and exams for clearing certification
The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) has announced the organisation of a seminar and oral examination for certification as Clearing Officers, Certified Clearers and Settlement Agents, inviting interested candidates to apply by March 20, 2026.
The exchange stated that the initiative concerns individuals seeking to be certified as qualified to be registered in the Special List of Clearing Officers, Certified Clearers and Settlement Agents.
It also announced the organisation of an oral examination exclusively for remote members, aimed at certifying persons who wish to be registered in the respective special list of CSE members and who already possess relevant professional competence certificates.
For participation in the seminar, candidates are required to submit the attached application to info@cse.com.cy no later than March 20, 2026, together with a copy of their identity card or passport and a copy of the deposit slip confirming payment of the prescribed fee of €100 per participant at the time of submission.
For participation in the oral examination, candidates must likewise submit the attached application to the same email address by March 20, 2026, along with a copy of their identity card or passport, a copy of their professional competence certificates and proof of payment of the €100 fee per participant.
The prescribed fee of €100 per participant must be deposited into one of the designated bank accounts of the exchange.
Payments may be made to the account held with the Bank of Cyprus Public Company Ltd under SWIFT code BCYPCY2N, account number 0120-05-020334-00 and IBAN CY83-0020-0120-0000-0005-0203-3400.
Alternatively, payment may be effected to the account held with Eurobank Limited under SWIFT code HEBACY2N, account number 106-11-033879-00 and IBAN CY07 0050 0106 0001 0611 0338 7900.
The exchange stated that it will inform applicants in due course of the time of conduct of the seminar or the oral examination, as applicable.
In order to assist candidates in their preparation, the exchange provided details of the regulatory framework governing clearing and settlement activities that will be examined.
This framework includes the Regulatory Decision on the Clearing of Transactions in Book Entry Securities RAA 450/2014, the Regulatory Decisions on the Operation of the Central Securities Depository and Central Securities Registry RAA 354/2023, as well as the Regulator Decision on the Procedures for obtaining Participant and Clearing Member status in the Central Securities Depository and Central Securities Registry Circular No. 10-27 / 05-24.
It further includes the Regulatory Decision on the Operation of the Central Securities Depository and Registry and the CSE Council Decision on the Central Maintenance Service Circular No. 15-2024/10-2024, as well as the Regulatory Decision on the Operation of the Central Securities Depository and Registry concerning the technical terms and procedures for the provision of the Settlement Service Circular No. 21-2023 and 2-2023.
Candidates are also expected to be familiar with the CSD procedures and revised forms of the Regulation on the Operation of the CSD, as set out in Circular No. 03-2025.
