Reuters: Iran’s Khamenei, President Masoud Pezeshkian Targeted in US-Israel Strikes
US and Israeli forces reportedly targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Pezeshkian.
According to Reuters, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and President Masoud Pezeshkian were among the targets of coordinated US and Israeli strikes. The outcomes of these attacks remain unverified.
Tasnim News Agency, affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, reported that President Pezeshkian is safe and unharmed. Meanwhile, the Supreme Leader’s residence in Tehran, known as Beit al-Rahbari, was targeted, but sources indicate he was not in the city and has been moved to a secure location.
In response to the attacks, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council declared that the armed forces have launched “crushing operations” against what it termed hostile enemy actions. The council warned that attacks may continue in Tehran and other cities, urging civilians to relocate to safer areas.
Schools and universities across Iran were ordered closed, while banking services remain operational. Government ministries are functioning at 50 percent capacity as precautionary measures are enforced.
Iran launched a series of missile attacks on American military installations across the Gulf, including the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. Officials reported that the strikes triggered air raid sirens and emergency protocols, though initial assessments suggest limited damage.
The attacks also targeted bases in Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait. Authorities in the affected countries confirmed that defensive systems intercepted most missiles, minimizing casualties and infrastructure damage.
Tehran has warned that all U.S. and Israeli assets in the region are now considered legitimate targets, following escalating tensions after joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian sites.
The situation remains fluid, with international observers closely monitoring developments. Independent verification of the strike impacts has not yet been possible.
