Man Utd have now agreed to sell "gamechanger" to Turkish club for £4.3m - report

Manchester United have already reached an agreement with Besiktas for the summer transfer of goalkeeper Atlay Bayindir, according to Turkish outlet Sporx.

Bayindir started the campaign as the first-choice shot-stopper in the Premier League, but lost his position to Senne Lammens after a poor showing against Brentford on the road.

Lammens has since made 21 straight appearances for the Red Devils, keeping five clean sheets. He recently secured the man of the match accolade against Everton away.

Bayindir was linked with a mid-season move to Besiktas, but United blocked his potential exit as they wanted sufficient cover behind Lammens for the rest of the campaign.

However, the Turkish ace is expected to leave during the summer, and Sporx claim that Besiktas have sealed an agreement with both the player and the Red Devils.

Besiktas have agreed an annual salary of around £1.74 million with Bayindir, while they have finalised a deal worth £4.34m with United for the goalkeeper’s transfer.

Everything has been sorted. Bayindir, who has been described as a ‘gamechanger‘ by former boss Ruben Amorim, is poised to join Besiktas when the transfer window reopens.

United could promote Radek Vitek after Bayindir’s exit

Bayindir was the first-choice goalkeeper under Amorim after Andre Onana was loaned out to Trabzonspor for the 2025/26 season.

The Turkish ace had a good start to the season, but his forgettable showing at the Gtech Community Stadium paved the way for Lammens to make his debut.

The summer signing has not looked back since. The Belgian has been ever-present for the Red Devils and has barely put a foot wrong despite the change of managers.

Hence, it is unsurprising that Bayindir has agreed to move on. United may have an internal solution to fill the void left by the Turkish ace during the summer.

Radek Vitek has had a fine Championship loan with Bristol City, and the 22-year-old Czech could be promoted to the backup role by United’s hierarchy.

Onana still has his sights on reviving his United career, but the Cameroonian star is more likely to be offloaded. Inter Milan are open to re-signing him.
