Tottenham want to sign their very own £35m Roberto Firmino who 'looks built for Premier League'

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for Argentine striker Flaco Lopez, after some impressive growth over the last few years.

It has been reported over the last few days that Spurs are eyeing a summer move for Palmeiras striker Flaco Lopez, who has been extremely consistent in the Brazilian top-flight over recent years.

The same update claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are battling Fulham and West Ham United for the striker, who is thought to be valued at around €40m (£34.5m) by Palmeiras.

The 25-year-old’s goalrecord at Palmeiras is decent, but 62 goals in 192 matches does not necessarily scream world-class. However, those numbers do not tell the whole story regarding the rumoured Spurs target.

Tottenham target Flaco Lopez is built for the Premier League

Sport Witness have now revealed that the reason Premier League clubs find the striker attractive is due to his combination of size, intelligence, and proven output.

Standing at 1.90m, it is revealed that Lopez ‘dominates the air’ and ‘looks built for the Premier League’, having developed physically over the last few years.

The striker is also said to have a knack for timing the runs into the box perfectly and for attacking the space inbetween defenders. The 25-year-old is described as being ‘clinical inside the box’, often being the first to react to rebounds.

Lopez did not start out as a striker

The Argentine did not start out as a striker, often being deployed as a number during his teen years. Lopez still retains that creativity and is capable of dropping between the lines to link play and provide assists.

The report compares the Palmeiras star’s profile to that of the former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, as it said that he has ‘presence inside the area but also the instincts of a playmaker’.

Javier Kloz, who helped discover him, said about the Spurs target’s transformation to CNN Brazil back in December: “In the youth teams, Flaco was a playmaker, a generator of moves. Today, he scores headers, arrives well in the box, but he also has no problem generating play deeper. He remains that player with incredible peripheral vision.”
