Windies in Group 2 of Women’s T20 World Cup
West Indies have been drawn in a tough group for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.
The schedule for the prestigious global event, which will include 12 participating teams, was unveiled on Tuesday by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
West Indies are in Group B alongside Ireland, Scotland, England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Group A will feature Australia, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh and the Netherlands.
West Indies will have their biggest first round match against hosts England at Lords on the night of Wednesday, June 24. This is the first time the two archrivals will pay against each other at the historic ground in the heart of London.
“This event is in continuation of ICC’s sustained investment in women’s cricket – across expanded participation and high-performance pathways, event and production standards, tournament prize money, widened media distribution and commercial partnerships – towards the goal of commanding higher levels of attention, affiliation and stature with fans worldwide,” said Sanjog Gupta, the ICC’s CEO.
Hosts England will square off against Sri Lanka in the opening fixture on June 12. The tenth edition of the competition will take place from June 12 to July 5 this year, with 12 teams vying for the title, in what is the biggest field in the tournament’s history so far.
