Moment fugitive hiding from police in bin hops out seconds before being crushed
A man who fled from a police during a traffic stop was discovered hiding in a bin as it was nearly loaded in the back of the lorry.
Jonathan McMillan, 27, had exited his vehicle and ran after being stopped on Monday in Huber Heights, Ohio.
Officers set up a perimeter to try and track him down – before he was found about to be loaded in the back of a bin lorry.
Police dashboard footage shows one of the binmen opening the lid of black wheelie bin, then jumping back and pointing inside.
As the officers arrived, McMillan can be be seen poking his head up before jumping out and fleeing.
Huber Heights Police said: ‘Earlier today, Officer Tyree initiated a traffic stop. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver fled on foot.
‘The Officer briefly lost sight of the suspect and quickly established a perimeter in the area.
‘As luck would have it, “Oscar the Grouch” — as we’ve nicknamed our suspect — appeared at just the right place and the right time.
‘Thanks to the impressive athletic ability and swift response of our very own Officer Perez, the suspect was safely apprehended.
‘The suspect was taken into custody without injury to anyone involved.’
McMillan was taken to Montgomery County Jail and charged with obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
He also had an outstanding warrant from Miami County.
He was handed a warning for the original traffic violation which prompted the stop.
