Ghislaine Maxwell Called Former Bravo Star Carole Radziwill “One Of My Closest Friends” In Released Epstein Email
Carole Radziwill is a writer and socialite who rose to prominence when she married Anthony Radziwill, a prince and the son of iconic American socialite Lee Radziwill. In 1999, Carole experienced a remarkable amount of tragedy as she and Anthony’s best friends, John F. Kennedy Jr. (who was Anthony’s cousin) and Carolyn Bessette, died in a plane crash in Martha’s Vineyard. Less than a month later, Anthony passed away from cancer.
Carole wrote a memoir about the three losses, What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship, and Love, received widespread critical praise and spent 12 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. She is also known for being a cast member on Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York for six seasons, from 2012-2018.
Bravo fans were the first to notice that on her book’s back cover, you can see that her author photo was taken by convicted sex trafficker and Epstein confidant Ghislaine Maxwell. Carole has brushed off the association in the past, saying on Twitter: “I knew her socially she had a real camera (it was 2004 no one carried cameras) anyway I’d had a pro photo shoot but the pics were bad. I asked her if she’d take the picture & she said sure. In hindsight was it odd she had a camera? I guess but who knew?!” In another Twitter exchange, Carole said she never knew that Epstein and his friends were preying on children: “obvs the men who were involved knew…I’m saying the social party friends especially us girls — we didn’t know. When people are doing bad sh*t they hide it well. It’s f*cking creepy.”
In a third Twitter conversation about Epstein and Maxwell, Carole said the rich and powerful people she hung out with were “decent and kind” and claimed only the FBI knew Epstein and Maxwell were trafficking women and girls.
While Radziwill says she only knew Ghislaine Maxwell “socially”, an email from the latest release of Epstein files shows Maxwell referring to her as “one of my closest friends.”
The email exchange from Ghislaine to an unknown party appears to discuss an article being written in Tatler magazine to promote the release of What Remains. Maxwell writes, “She is one of my closest friends so look after her – make her shine- her book is really amazing by the way – she’ll get you a galley ASAP. I can take the pic for Tatler (I took her author pic for the book – seems taking pics of my friends is my new career!) Ask Carole about my pics.”
