AU Talks: Minister Chaponda Pushes Malawi’s Agenda on Peace, Development
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. George Chaponda is attending the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Executive Council meeting, which brings together Ministers of Foreign Affairs from AU Member States, is considering the report of the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC). The report outlines key policy recommendations and decisions aimed at advancing the African Union’s agenda on peace and security, economic integration, governance, and sustainable development.
Dr. Chaponda’s participation underscores Malawi’s continued commitment to active engagement in continental affairs and its dedication to promoting unity, cooperation, and shared prosperity across Africa.
The Minister is expected to contribute to discussions on key continental priorities, including African Union reforms, regional integration, and the implementation of Agenda 2063.
