Birds of a Feather

As the old saying goes, “birds of a feather stick together.”  It appears that pedophiles do too.

Take, for example, Ghislaine Maxwell.  She is Jeffrey Epstein’s pimp, having been convicted and jailed for 20 years for conspiring with Epstein to sexually abuse minors.

Well, Maxwell has now sent a message to President Donald Trump that if he were to grant her clemency, she would, graciously, return the favor by clearing his name of any wrongdoing with Epstein.

Gee, that sounds pretty much like a bribe.  Not that that would offend Trump’s sensibilities, of course,

But, gosh, in August of 2025, Ghislaine got transferred from a low-security Florida prison to a minimum-security Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas, affectionately referred to as “Club Fed.” She got to live in dormitory housing with lower staff-to-inmate ratios and no perimeter fencing and with other high-profile (and apparently higher-class, upscale) white-collar criminals. That sure beats the prison she was in in Tallahassee, which a 2023 DOJ report described as having “alarming” conditions—rodents, moldy food and such.

Here’s what doesn’t make sense about Maxwell’s generous exoneration offer to the President, however.

President Trump has consistently and sanctimoniously denied any wrongdoing with Epstein’s—and her—teenage victims.  While appreciating that Trump is mentioned a thousand or so times in the Epstein files that he promised–and Congress ordered–be made public, apparently nothing so far has linked Mr. Trump directly with any improper conduct.

Now taken at face value, President Trump’s self-exculpatory statements should end the matter.  Good Lord, he wouldn’t lie about something so serious.

So why would Ghislaine need to clear his name?  What conduct is she exonerating him from? Something he has already said he didn’t do?  Geez, that makes it sound like he’s lying.

And that makes Maxwell’s offer a blunder of a bribe.  Indeed, implying the President is a liar and a pedophile might get her transferred out of Club Fed and back with the rats and moldy chow in Tallahassee. Not a good move on her part; better to shut up and remain in her present high-end digs for the next 20 years or until she’s pardoned, whichever comes first.

At least, that’s something she can count on.  As it is with the birds…
