Thomas Frank reveals whether he regrets selling Brennan Johnson amid Tottenham injury crisis
Thomas Frank has now spoken out on Tottenham’s sale of Brennan Johnson during the winter window, as his squad continues to lack attacking depth amid an injury crisis.
A lot has been made about Tottenham Hotspur’s winter transfer dealings since deadline day back on 2 February.
Spurs fans were far from satisfied with the business conducted by their club following the signing of just two players, with key areas of the squad not strengthened.
Thomas Frank, meanwhile, has since explained why he is happy with Spurs’ winter dealings before revealing that long-term planning remains key at Tottenham.

Spurs signed Conor Gallagher and Souza for a combined £50million, but also sold Brennan Johnson for £35million, bringing their net spend to about £15million.
Given the lack of depth in attack following an injury crisis, questions about whether it was the right move to sell Johnson remain.
Addressing those concerns, Frank spoke about the various factors involved in the transfer decision and the club’s current attacking depth when speaking to football.london.
“There are a lot of moving parts in every decision, in terms of when you sell a player or when you buy a player. You can say if you play 3-4-3, we have right now five available players for the front three, which is a decent number.
“Hopefully Richy will be back soon, then we are six and when Mo comes back, then we are seven. So if you look at it from that perspective, I think it’s okay.”
How Brennan Johnson has fared since leaving Spurs
Since departing from Spurs, Brennan Johnson has yet to hit the ground running at Selhurst Park. The Wales international has made six appearances for Crystal Palace but has not scored or registered an assist in those outings.
The forward, during his time at Tottenham, had a knack for scoring goals, but other aspects of his game needed improvement.
Many fans would argue that the issue is not with selling Johnson but with the lack of a replacement being signed, given the injury situation.
