Kristen Cabot of Coldplay Scandal to Speak at Crisis PR Conference — and Tickets Are Almost $1k

Kristen Cabot, who was one-half of the couple embroiled in the Coldplay kiss cam scandal last summer, is set to speak at a crisis PR conference in Washington, D.C. — and people are paying $875 to see her do so.

TMZ reported that Cabot, 53, is set to share the stage with PR expert Dini von Mueffling as part of a 30-minute segment titled "Kristin Cabot: Taking Back the Narrative."

The segment is part of PRWeek's Crisis Comms Conference and is scheduled for April.

Kristen Cabot resigned from her job after the Coldplay kiss cam scandal

Cabot was forced to resign from her job at Astronomer after she and former CEO Andy Byron were caught mid-embrace on the so-called kiss cam at a Coldplay concert. Cabot was separated from her spouse at the time, but that information was not immediately made clear — and social media ran wild with reenactments of the moment in question.

Cabot spoke to the New York Times about the fallout following the concert in December. She revealed to the outlet that at the peak of the scandal, she was receiving 500-600 phone calls to her home a day; social media was rampant with posts from people labeling her a homewrecker.

"I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss. And it’s not nothing. And I took accountability and I gave up my career for that. That’s the price I chose to pay," Cabot said of the night in question. "I want my kids to know that you can make mistakes, and you can really screw up. But you don’t have to be threatened to be killed for them."

She also said that she received between 50 and 60 death threats.

Cabot also revealed that Byron told her he was separated from his wife, but nothing happened between the pair until the July 2025 concert. She decided to go to the show because she hadn't left her home "in ages," and invited Byron to come along.

She also admitted that she didn't really hesitate about inviting her boss out. "Some inside part of my brain might have been jumping up and down and waving its arms, saying, ‘Don’t do this,’" Cabot said. Still, she was "excited" to introduce him to her friends. "I was like: ‘I got this. I can have a crush. I can handle it,'" she added.

As plenty of people can recall, things came crashing down around the pair pretty quickly. "I was so embarrassed and so horrified," Cabot said of the moment she and Byron appeared onscreen. "I’m the head of H.R. and he’s the C.E.O. It’s, like, so cliché and so bad." The duo went back to a nearby bar and commiserated. As Cabot put it, "We both just sat there with our heads in our hands, like, ‘What just happened?’"

Their next step was to come up with a plan to address the potentially public nature of their transgression, though it was likely unclear at the time just how far it would go. Ultimately, they both left the company.
