Alan Ritchson Fights a Giant Freaking Robot in New Netflix Thriller 'War Machine'
The next massive Alan Ritchson thriller you can stream probably isn't ReacherSeason 4. Instead, Ritchson is headed into combat with a killer AI robot in a new Netflix movie streaming way sooner than you think. The movie is War Machine, and the premise looks incredible. As of February 4, Netflix and Ritchson have shared the first rip-roaring trailer for War Machine, and it looks like a high-octane blend of Predatormeets Terminator.
Here's what to know about War Machine, including the plot, trailer, and release date.
War Machine Trailer and Plot
As the trailer reveals, War Machine stars Alan Ritchson as an Army Ranger known as "81," who, on a very specific mission, encounters a murderous robot set on destroying him and his entire squad. The trailer plays out like an old-school preview for a classic Alien or Predator movie, complete with some well-placed braaaaaams as well as a killer tagline: "It was built for war, but so was he." Hell yes, he was!
Basically, the point of this movie is machine versus Ritchson, which is clearly an allegory for machine versus the total unit that we think of as Jack Reacher. Will this be the best giant robot movie of all time? Who knows. But it seems like it's definitely the best movie about a cool dude fighting a robot that we'll see in 2026.
