Reporter busts Melania for hyping her movie at White House event
First lady Melania Trump faced questions after she seemed to promote her movie at an official White House event.
While speaking with freed Israeli hostages Aviva and Keith Siegel on Wednesday, Trump put in a plug for her movie.
"After Aviva was freed, she called me, wanted to see me, and we set up a meeting in New York in January 2025," the first lady explained. "It was an emotional meeting, and it is captured on camera and available to see in my new film, 'Melania.' It was very emotional."
Keith Siegel ended his remarks by congratulating Trump on her new movie.
"So much looking forward to seeing it," he said.
Following the group's remarks, a reporter asked Trump about using the venue to promote her movie.
"Why do you feel it is appropriate to use an official White House event to promote your documentary?" the reporter asked.
"This is not promotion," Melania Trump insisted. "We are here celebrating the release of the hostages of Aviva and Keith."
"They said they would like to come over to thank me and to give hugs," she added, "and that's why we are here. There's nothing to do with promotion."
