Sports briefs: Marin Academy boys defeat Making Waves

Brady Stewart scored the only goal of the game to lift the Marin Academy boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory against Making Waves Academy on Tuesday.

Jonah Nessel provided the assist for the Wildcats (4-8-6, 3-4-3 BCL West), who boosted their hopes for making the league playoffs with the victory.

• San Domenico (6-5-1, 3-5-0 BCL West) fell 2-0 against league frontrunner University on Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Sophomore Victoria Tennyson found the back of the net for the first time this season as San Domenico fell to University 6-1 on Tuesday. Sami Anderson and Keira Plunkett were among the standouts for the Panthers (5-7-0, 0-6-0 BCL West), according to coach Fiona O’Sullivan.

Girls basketball

Senior Abby Bartholo led all scorers with 21 points as she led San Marin High to a 67-14 romp over San Rafael to celebrate Mustangs Senior Night on Tuesday. Senior Megan McCune had seven points, 12 rebounds and four blocks for the Mustangs (16-8, 6-1 MCAL). Giselle Maldonado’s four points paced the Bulldogs (6-11, 0-6), who were playing without Brisa Briseno.

• Kate Spaulding scored 20 points and Juliette Caldwell-Little added 19 as The Branson School posted a 61-16 victory against Terra Linda (2-14, 1-6) on Tuesday. Ava Gordon added six points for the Bulls (14-11, 4-3) who are in the mix to host a first-round MCAL playoff game next Monday. Ryann Jeffreys led TL with seven points.
• Archie Williams opened the game on fire and rolled to a 57-19 win against Tam (6-14, 2-6) on Tuesday. Reese Patton paced the Peregrine Falcons (14-9, 4-3) with 15 points. Valentina Diaz hit four 3-pointers en route to a 12-point game. Parker Conrad scored nine and Lila Peterson added six for the Peregrine Falcons, who led 25-0 after the first quarter. Archie Williams, tied for fourth place with Branson, closes the season against San Marin.
• Marin Catholic (8-13, 5-2) posted a 62-23 victory against Novato (8-15, 3-4) on Tuesday night, MC closes the season against Terra Linda and Novato wraps up against Redwood. The Giants (18-5) posted a 63-19 win against Analy on Tuesday.
