The Transport GTX Boots are a beefed up version of Hoka’s Transport walking shoe. Hoka describes it as a “town to trail” shoe capable of dayhikes and casual wear alike. Starting from the top, this boot sports a sleek synthetic mesh upper paired with an interior Gore-Tex waterproof bootie to repel moisture and keep your feet dry. An overlay across the toe protects your foot from scuffs and scrapes, and padding around the ankle and especially on the tongue ensures a plush, comfortable fit. A polyurethane sockliner and an EVA midsole soak up bumps and landing forces for a cushioned ride, and the boot features Hoka’s Active Foot Frame, a layer of firmer foam that cups the heel to support your foot and keep it aligned within the boot. On the bottom, the Vibram Megagrip rubber outsole with 4 millimeter lugs bites into soft ground for reliable grip, and it’ll handle pavement jaunts without issue.

What Shoppers Are Saying
REI shoppers called the Transport Hike GTX “very comfortable and lightweight” and praised its “good grip” on varying surfaces, including pavement. Several shoppers noted it’s a great choice for dealing with wet conditions and the Gore-Tex upper really works. One shopper called the shoes “totally waterproof” and said it kept their feet “bone dry.” Overall, the Transport Hike GTX offers a rugged build that’ll keep your feet comfortable through inclement weather and dicey terrain.
