"Monday Night Football" offers something for football enthusiasts to look forward to during that first day back at work after the weekend, so when it's done for the season, it's a downer.
So, is there "Monday Night Football" to watch on TV on Jan. 27, ahead of the Super Bowl?
Is There 'Monday Night Football' on Jan. 27?
Sorry, football lovers, but there is no more "Monday Night Football" for the 2025-26 season. It ended a few weeks ago, as the NFL playoffs kicked in.
Not only is there no "Monday Night Football" left, but there's also no college football. The NCAA's college season ended on Monday, Jan. 19, with the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers taking on the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes and Indiana taking the win, 27-21. So, the college football season is over, and all eyes are looking ahead to the 2026-27 season.
"It's a great thing, Indiana winning the National Championship two years into our tenure," Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti said after the team's win. "You do it with people and a plan. Can't say enough about our senior leadership and the people we have in the locker room and the people we have on our staff and our strength and conditioning staff, support staff and the commitment we receive from President Whitten and Scott Dolson."
He added that the team being 16-0 and national champions at Indiana University is something "a lot of people thought was never possible. It probably is one of the greatest sports stories of all time. But it's all because of these guys and the staff."
Cignetti also praised Miami, stating, "Give a lot of credit to Miami. It was a real gut check. We found a way. It's a credit to our guys' resiliency to find a way to get that done."
One Key NFL Game Left
The good news is that there's still one NFL football game left for the 2025-26 season, and that's the Super Bowl. Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Last year's Super Bowl drew record ratings. The game had the Philadelphia Eagles taking a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and drew a record 127.7 million U.S. viewers across television and streaming platforms, according to NFL statistics. The game was televised by Fox, Fox Deportes and Telemundo and streamed on Tubi and the NFL's digital platforms.
According to Neilson, Super Bowl XLVIII also included the first Spanish-language broadcast for a Super Bowl.
So, even though there's no "Monday Night Football" on Jan. 26, there's still one big football game ahead.
