Thomas Frank reveals whether Micky Van de Ven is happy at Tottenham amid exit rumours
Thomas Frank has now opened up on Micky van de Ven’s future following recent rumours linking the Dutchman with a move away from Tottenham.
Thomas Frank weathered the storm against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday by securing a much-needed 2-0 win over the Bundesliga side.
The Dane had to do so without several key players, who were absent through injury, suspension or because they were not registered for the Champions League.
Micky van de Ven was one such absentee during Spurs’ victory over Dortmund due to suspension and is now back in contention for the Premier League clash against Burnley.

Thomas Frank on Micky van de Ven’s future at Tottenham
The Dutchman has been key to Spurs’ success this term, not only for his defensive contributions but also for chipping in with vital goals.
However, Van de Ven’s future at Tottenham is far from secure as he continues to be linked with a move away from N17. Interest is reported from clubs in the Premier League and Spain for the pacy centre-back.
Speaking to football.london, Thomas Frank addressed van de Ven’s current situation, his importance to the squad and the future of the defender at Tottenham.
He said: “I have just seen Micky today. He seems very happy and smiling, very happy after the game we won, in the changing room.
“He is a fantastic player and a fantastic ambassador for this club. He has maybe had his best season for the club. He is growing as a leader and a big player for the future.
“I would say he is a very important player for us. Micky is a Tottenham player for us now and for the future.”
Why Spurs must extend van de Ven’s current contract
Tottenham need to secure the future of van de Ven if they are to avoid the risk of losing him too early.
There has been talk of a contract extension for Van de Ven, but those discussions appear to have stalled, with no agreement reached at present.
Spurs do have options at centre-back should van de Ven depart, with Kevin Danso, Takai, Vuskovic and Radu Dragusin available, although none offer the same blend of pace and ball-carrying ability as the 24-year-old, making it crucial for the Lilywhites to secure van de Ven’s future.
