Piers Morgan Recovering From Hip Replacement Surgery After Fall At London Restaurant

Piers Morgan has shared that he is recovering from a hip replacement after a fall in a London restaurant.

On Sunday afternoon, the divisive broadcaster posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed on social media, after undergoing the procedure.

Posting on Instagram, the 60-year-old presenter explained that he’d “tripped over a small step” in the restaurant of a London hotel and fallen “like a sack of spuds”, fracturing the neck of his femur “so badly” that he “needed [a] new hip”.

The former Good Morning Britain host added that he is now “recovering in hospital” but will be using crutches for the next six weeks, and has been advised against long-haul travel for at least three months.

“New Year off to a cracking start!” he joked. “I blame Donald Trump.”

The Instagram post also included a picture of the X-ray image of his broken bone.

Piers is currently the host of the YouTube interview series Piers Morgan Uncensored, where his recent guests have included everyone from musician Roger Waters and TV personality Sharon Osbourne to far-right commentator Candace Owens and Erika Kirk, the widow of Charlie Kirk.

The show began life as a nightly show on what was then known as TalkTV, but pivoted to being a YouTube-only series in 2024.

Uncensored marked Piers’ official return to presenting after his infamous departure from Good Morning Britain in 2022, when his comments casting doubt on Meghan Markle’s claims that she experienced suicidal thoughts while still a senior member of the Royal Family became the most complained-about incident in Ofcom history.
