Bison numbers in Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary have risen to 848, an increase of 60 in six months. Consecutive censuses reveal the Indian gaur breeds year-round in the sanctuary, unlike in other parts of India. Conservation efforts are now focusing on habitat management to support this continuous breeding pattern.
