Considering what might be next for her love life, Teyana shared that she had learned a valuable lesson from her divorce.
“Divorce, to me, is you’re grieving the death of a living being,” she said. “I think once children are involved, you understand the importance of really still having to show up for each other. At least for the next 18 years, and being the best co-parents that we can be.”
Teyana and Iman married in 2016 and then split in 2023. Their divorced was finalized in 2024. They share two daughters, Iman, 10, and Rue, 5.
Despite that, she told Vanity Fair she doesn’t “want people to start feeling scared of marriage, because marriage is a beautiful thing.”
Teyana went on to say, “When I love, my love is real. So whatever you’ve seen was a real display of love until there was no more. And that’s okay.”
Her next big movie is The Rip co-starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. It will released on Netflix on January 16. Watch the trailer!
