Packers-Bears wild-card game on Prime Video sets NFL streaming viewership record
Prime Video's broadcast of the Packers-Bears wild-card game Saturday averaged 31.61 million viewers, Amazon's streaming service said, making it the most-streamed NFL game ever. The record had been set on Christmas Day, when the Lions-Vikings game drew 27.52 million viewers on Netflix.
The Packers-Bears game, which peaked at 34.16 million viewers in the 8:15 p.m. CT quarter-hour, drew the most concurrent viewers and the highest single-day global viewership in Prime's history, according to Amazon's first-party data. Prime's previous wild-card game, between the Steelers and Ravens on Jan. 11, 2025, averaged 22.07 million viewers, which is now the streamer's second-biggest audience.
“We could not have asked for a better game on Saturday and very much appreciate our partners at the NFL who entrusted us to present such an incredible matchup,” said Jay Marine, head of Prime Video U.S., global sports, and advertising. “Surpassing 31 million viewers and setting an all-time streaming record illustrates our remarkable growth in a relatively short amount of time. We’re thankful for all the fans who tuned in on Saturday night and throughout this historic season of NFL games on Prime and will keep working hard and innovating on their behalf.”
Prime's shoulder programming also drew well. The pregame show averaged 3.05 million, an increase of 50% from the Steelers-Ravens pregame audience (2.03 million). The postgame show averaged 4.96 million, making it Prime's most-watched NFL postgame show. It marked a 40% increase from the Steelers-Ravens game (3.54 million).
