How to watch Valkyries players battle each other in Unrivaled league
Several Golden State Valkyries stars are among the 54 elite WNBA players in the winter 3-on-3 Unrivaled league. Fans, however, will have to get used to seeing their favorite teammates square up against each other on the court.
The second season of the league tipped off on Monday and immediately saw Valkyries star Tiffany Hayes of the Phantom battle teammate Kate Martin of the Breeze.
The Breeze, led by WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers and former Stanford star Cameron Brink, edged the Phantom 69-62. That game also featured former Stanford teammates Brink and Kiki Iriafen match up against each other.
Other Day 1 games featuring Valkyries included the Hive with Monique Billings defeating the Mist with Veronica Burton 72-56.
Also in action: Temi Fagbenle with the Lunar Owls replaces last year’s Unrivaled MVP Napheesa Collier, who is having ankle surgery and expected to be out four to six months.
