Former 'SNL' Star Says He Sold Drugs to Castmates
Former Saturday Night Live cast member Chris Redd made an interesting revelation in a video posted to social media Tuesday.
In the lengthy clip, Redd admitted to having "pill problems" while working for the iconic comedy sketch show from 2017-22, even claiming to have sold pills to some of his colleagues.
Redd confesses, but won't 'snitch'
Among other things, Redd candidly recanted his struggles with pills before dropping that he apparently distributed some to fellow cast members.
“Bottom line is, while I was at the show, I had some pill issues. I had some pill problems," Redd said. "Nothing too crazy, but crazy for my Black a--. I was even selling some to people, some of my castmates."
Assuming Redd is telling the truth, some SNL entertainers may have gotten very worried when they heard him say this. However, the 40-year-old comedian says he won't name names.
"I’m not gonna snitch on y’all motherf-----s man," Redd added.
Redd had more to get off his chest
While Redd didn't call out any old colleagues by name, he did indicate that the environment while working at SNL did not help his drug problem.
"It was really funny to me that I would be around, on this s---, and people would talk s--- about me, and I would hear them, because, you know, some of that Adderall s--- got you f------ super-hearing," Redd said.
"But [they] wouldn’t help me, you know. I would have panic attacks, [they] wouldn’t be concerned about me or nothing," he continued. "Just would talk s---. It’s crazy how somebody would watch you destroy yourself."
Additionally, an emotional Redd also spoke at length about his relationship with model Christina Evangeline, who was married to Redd's former SNL teammate Kenan Thompson for more than a decade before their divorce in 2022.
“In that time, we fell in love, and I felt bad from the start," Redd explained. "It's always felt like an emotional double-edged sword for me, because I really love everything me and Kenan did, bro. I really appreciated every piece of work we put together, I think that we were a great team, and I hate doing something to somebody that I know would hurt them.”
