“She gets it all off her chest, unpacking everything from her life, her career and her nonlinear climb from hunger to the heights. She confronts the noise head-on, addressing doubters, believers and the tired ‘industry plant’ narrative with sharp honesty, wit and self-awareness.”
Doechii wrote the new track with SZA, Jahlil Gunter and Darius Scott. It was produced by Jay Versace and samples “What Happened To That Boy” by Baby featuring Clipse.
It’s the final song from her “Swamp Sessions” series, including tracks likes “NISSAN ALTIMA,” “BULLFROG” and “CATFISH.”
The concept behind the sessions was to set a timer for an hour and write a song.
“All that industry plant s–t whack / I see it on the blogs, I see you in the chats / You suck every rap n–a d–k from the back / But what’s the agenda when the It Girl Black?” she declares.
