French Acting Legend Brigitte Bardot Dead at 91
Brigitte Bardot, known for decades of work as an actress and sex and style icon, as well as an animal rights activist, has passed away at the age of 91.
She passed on Sunday (December 28) at her home in southern France, and the news was confirmed to the AP by Bruno Jacquelin, of the Brigitte Bardot Foundation for the protection of animals. No cause of death has been given.

She flew onto the scene in 1956′s And God Created Woman. You may recognize her for other work like 1959’s Babette Goes to War, 1960’s La Vérité, 1963’s Contempt, 1965’s Viva Maria!, and 1958’s The Night Heaven Fell.
She created the Brigitte Bardot Foundation in 1986, campaigning against animal cruelty including the use of fur, protecting animal rights, and more.
She is survived by her husband Bernard d’Ormale, a son, and two granddaughters. RIP.
