YouTube Star Emotionally Reveals Battle With Deadly Disease

Ned Fulmer, formerly a member of the YouTube group Try Guys, emotionally revealed he's been battling with MS for more than a decade now.

In partnership with WalkMS, Fulmer shared that he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2013. The 38-year-old revealed that "it's relapsing remitting MS." According to the Mayo Clinic, multiple sclerosis "causes breakdown of the protective covering of nerves," and it can "cause numbness, weakness, trouble walking, vision changes, and other symptoms."

"In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath that covers nerve fibers, known as myelin," the Mayo Clinic notes. "This interrupts communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Eventually, the disease can cause permanent damage to the nerve fibers."

In the video aptly dubbed "I Have MS," Fulmer says he was scared about disclosing his diagnosis, but he chose to do so now to help others navigate the debilitating disease.

Fulmer shared that he woke up one day and couldn't move his legs, prompting him to collapse on his bathroom floor. He told Us Weekly that when he was diagnosed with MS in 2013, "it started just by numbness and tingling" in his hands, which then spread to his arms, chest, and back.

Fulmer shared with Us Weekly that he takes twice-a-day oral medication and that he's currently "stable for the moment."

Fulmer drew headlines in 2022 when he admitted to having a workplace affair, which led to his ouster from the group, which at the time boasted nearly 8 million subscribers to their YouTube channel.

The Try Guys, which includes Eugene Lee Yang, Keith Habersberger, and Zach Kornfeld, is a group that earned stardom for their willingness to try just about anything, including labor pain simulators.
