Four-star guard Jasiah Jervis commits to Michigan State

By ADAM ZAGORIA

Four-star guard Jasiah Jervis is headed to Michigan State.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Archbishop Stepinac (NY) and the NY Rens chose the Spartans over Tennessee, Pittsburgh, NC State and Illinois.

He is ranked No. 23 nationally on Rivals/ON3, No. 39 nationally on 247 Sports and No. 50 nationally on
the ESPN SportsCenter Next Top 100 and No. 2 in New York State, Jervis has emerged as one of the most
dynamic guards in high school basketball and one of the biggest stock risers in the country heading into his senior year.

“Jasiah has developed into one of the premier guards in the country,” said head coach Patrick
Massaroni
, whose team is ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps.com. “His growth from freshman to senior year has been tremendous. He’s a true leader on and off the court, and we couldn’t be prouder of him. He has put himself in a position to be a McDonald’s All American due to his hard work in the off season.”

On his visit to Michigan State during “Grind Week” in September, Jervis met Michigan State legends Draymond Green, MIles Bridges, Gary Harris and Jase Richardson.

“The atmosphere was great,” said Jervis, who runs with the NY Rens Nike EYBL program. “The players welcomed me in with open arms. Playing against all those NBA guys and just getting, advice from them, it was just great.”

What was Green’s message?

“He was like, ‘We develop pros, we win,” Jervis related. “‘It’s just a great atmosphere and a family like-school.’”

Asked then if he could envision going to the Big Ten school, he said:

“Yeah, because they’ve been there, they went one-and-done, two-and-done. They say nothing but great things about Coach Izzo and the staff. I built a great relationship with Coach [Tom] Izzo and coach Woj [associate head coach Doug Wojcik] and the rest of the staff as well.”

Jervis joins Bergen Catholic forward Julius Avent in Michigan State’s 2026 class.

Jervis is the fifth Stepinac senior to pledge Division 1 this year after twins Adonis and Darius Ratliff chose USC, guard Hassan Koureissi picked Fordham and forward Dylan Perry chose Monmouth.
