Software glitch causes extra charges for some commuters using OMNY
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Have you noticed delays in charges appearing in your OMNY account?
According to the MTA, temporary software updates were causing the delays, which have since been resolved.
MTA Chief Customer Officer Shanifah Rieara sent PIX11 News the following statement: "
“We understand the concerns some customers have had related to delays in charges appearing on accounts for trips taken. We worked aggressively with our call center team, including increasing hours and expanding staffing, to ensure customers understand that these delays were due to temporary software updates, which have now been completed. The issue has been resolved, and customers are now able to see the correct charges appear on their accounts for their trips taken."
While the software updates have been completed, customers concerned about being overcharged on their OMNY card can contact the MTA at 877-789-6669 to review their charge history. Adjustments may be made as needed.
