Heung-min Son’s future also remains uncertain, with the winger yet to be given a further contract extension beyond next summer.
It was revealed earlier this week that Son’s future at Spurs is hugely dependent on the man in the Tottenham dugout next season, as Tottenham continue their search for a new manager.
Ahead of the final against Manchester United at the San Mames Stadium, the Tottenham captain was asked if the clash is his last chance to secure silverware with Spurs, given his uncertain future.
The Korean winger refused to say yes, instead stating that the future remains unclear and that he could still have a shot at silverware next season.
He said as relayed by football.london: “The future we never know. Next year we might play in the Champions League. The chance that I have now is real. It is a fact. It is a final, a Europa League final. I am not thinking whether this is my last chance to win a trophy here or just another chance.”
Heung-min Son’s one-year clause was triggered by Tottenham in January, which means the Spurs captain still has until the summer of 2026 before his current deal expires.
