Warriors vs. Grizzlies injury report
The full injury report for Tuesday’s game.
The Golden State Warriors have their biggest game of the season to date tonight when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies for the fifth game of a six-game road trip. With a win, the Dubs will jump the Grizzlies in the standings, taking over the fifth seed and putting a team between them and the play-in tournament. With a loss, the Warriors would fall out of the playoff spots ... and would even drop to the eighth seed if the Minnesota Timberwolves win tonight.
Needless to say, this one is big. But neither team will be at full strength. Here’s the full injury report for tonight’s game, which tips off at 5:00 p.m. PT.
Warriors
Out — Gary Payton II (left thumb ligament partial tear)
Payton’s injury, which will sideline him indefinitely, is a big loss, especially against a team like Memphis, which has a pair of star guards in Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. GPII’s defense would really help in this matchup.
Questionable — Jonathan Kuminga (right pelvic contusion)
Kuminga only played a handful of minutes in Sunday’s win before suffering an awkward fall and leaving the game. It looked like he might have aggravated the ankle that had sidelined him for two months, but he expressed optimism that he was fine, and it seems he instead is dealing with the same issue that kept Steph Curry out of two games last week. Needless to say, his presence would be huge tonight.
Grizzlies
Out — Brandon Clarke (right knee PCL sprain)
It’s been a tough season for Clarke. He was having the worst statistical year of his career, and then suffered a season-ending injury about two weeks ago.
Out — Zyon Pullin (right patellar tendon surgery recovery)
Pullin is out, but was unlikely to play anyway. The undrafted rookie has logged less than three minutes of action across three games this year.
Questionable — John Konchar (illness)
Konchar is playing a small, but critical role for the Grizzlies, coming off the bench to average just over 12 minutes a night. It will be a hit to the team’s depth if he can’t play.
