Sutton Foster May Have Accidentally Revealed Her Daughter Met Hugh Jackman Awhile Ago

Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster‘s relationship may be more serious than fans may have thought. In fact, in a rare parenting interview, Foster may have dropped a hint about how Jackman and her adopted daughter Emily crossed paths at the theater.

In a recent, and as we said, rare, interview with People, Foster talked about her daughter’s love for the theater.

“She definitely has an interest in creative arts. She loves to sing. She loves to write. Her dad’s a writer too, so she is really creative, and she loves to write and create stories,” she said. “She loves to come with me to the theater. So when I was doing [Once Upon a] Mattress in New York, she would spend Saturday matinees with me at the theater. And as soon as the show would start, she was like, ‘Turn it up, mommy. Turn it up.'”

Once Upon a Mattress, which is a musical comedy adaptation of The Princess and the Pea, has ran throughout 2024 and 2025. In Jan 2025, Jackman was publicly spotted attending the show, per EOnline. So they could’ve crossed paths then, but a resurfaced interview may indicate they could’ve met during the Music Man, also known as the show Jackman and Foster worked on together.

In a previous interview with People, Foster talked about Emily, saying, “She wants to do Hairspray,” talking about her love for the theater back in 2022.

For those who don’t know, Jackman and Foster’s relationship allegedly began as an affair in 2022 while they were appearing in The Music Man on Broadway, meeting over a decade prior in 2008 when seeing Shrek on Broadway.

Before her alleged affair with Jackman, Foster got engaged to screenwriter Ted Griffin back in 2013. They married a year later and then adopted a daughter named Emily, born March 5, 2017.

Per a bombshell November 2024 report in Us Weekly, Jackman and Foster’s alleged affair ultimately caused his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness. “Deborra-Lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show,” one source alleged. “I think many people were shocked [Jackman] could do this to her,” another insider claimed.

Since then, they’ve kept a low profile with their romance, with Foster even turning off her Instagram comments amid their romance to allegedly avoid pushback by fans.
