‘Anora’ Star Mikey Madison Has Fun in Furry Open-Toe Mule Shoes and Ferragamo Dress on ‘The Tonight Show’

Mikey Madison is enjoying her time in the spotlight. The starlet has been hitting a flurry of events and appearances in promotion of her film “Anora.” That project was nominated for a Critics Choice award, Independent Spirit award as well as more.For an interview on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon,” Madison kept up her aesthetic of dark glamour with a twist of fun.

She wore an oxblood Ferragamo dress featuring a deep-v-neck as well as a knot detail in the front. She also wore a pair of Tiffany & Co Elsa Peretti earrings and various rings from the jeweler.

The fun came by way of her footwear. Madison, who currently works with stylist Jamie Mizrahi, chose a pair of furry mule heels. The style is open toe with an almond base. The upper is composed of black long haired fur for an eccentric flare. The sole appears to he velvet with a stiletto heel that seems to be gold. But more than fun, the mule is certainly a part of the ongoing propensity toward mule shoes.

Starting off as a bedroom slipper in the 17th century, the mule has gone in and out of fashion. At its core, a mule describes any shoe that does not does not include a back. So while that at first was a closed-toe slipper in the French court, by the 1950s, it was back in style as an open-toe silhouette. Over the past ten years its been back in the spotlight. That happened first, largely by way of Gucci’s Princeton mule designed by Alessandro Michele. That debuted in 2015 seen often with fur but also without. The style became an it-shoe.

But since then the market has rounded out with a variety of styles in a variety of heights. In 2024 a cult item shoe was Miu Miu’s collaborative sneaker-mule with New Balance. And, of course, Madison is not the first celebrity to wear a furry stiletto mule: Sabrina Carpenter was spotted in a black and white pair just last month.
