A huge update has now emerged regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani, who is now thought to be close to reaching a full agreement with the Lilywhites ahead of a move from Paris Saint-Germain.
The new Spurs recruitment regime under Johan Lange tends to prefer operating in secrecy and doing deals under wraps such as the recent signing of Antonin Kinsky and Wilson Odobert in the summer.
However, the cat now appears to have slipped out of the back regarding their pursuit of Kolo Muani, who is widely reported to be Tottenham’s top striker target for this month.
A number of different outlets have said over recent weeks that the North London club have held talks with the 26-year-old, but it has now been suggested that a deal might be much closer than many might have realised.
This latest update comes from TBR Football, who say that Spurs are hoping to finalise a deal for the PSG man by the end of this week.
It is explained that over the past 48 hours, Ange Postecoglou‘s men have been ‘pushing hard’ to agree terms with Kolo Muani.
Those discussions with the striker’s entourage have been described as ‘fruitful’, with the report adding that ‘an agreement is all but sealed’ between Spurs and the player.
The publication reveals that it is Lange who is driving this deal, with the Tottenham technical director believing that Frenchman can lead this team into a new era.
However, TBR Football make it clear that although Spurs are close to finalising an agreement with Kolo Muani, they have not yet begun negotiations with PSG over a deal.
The Parisians are said to be open to loaning the player out but would like an obligation to buy included in the deal.
Tottenham are thought to be open to such a deal but are allegedly keen for it to be a conditional obligation depending on if the striker hits some performance targets.
