New Delhi: Former Indian captain MS Dhoni, affectionately referred to as ‘Captain Cool,’ has long been appreciated for his grounded personality beyond the cricket field. A recent social media post captured Dhoni spending precious moments with his pet dog, with his sweet daughter Ziva by his side.

‘Not a big social media fan’
Dhoni, who led India to three ICC trophies between 2007 and 2013, recently shared his thoughts on social media and public image. Since his debut in 2004, Dhoni saw the growth of platforms like Twitter and Instagram, but he always felt that his performance on the field spoke for itself, eliminating the need for extra public relations strategies.
“I have never been a big fan of social media. Throughout, I have had so many managers and all of them keep pushing. I started playing in 2004; Twitter got popular later on, after which Instagram came in. All the managers told me, ‘you should do some PR, build this and build that’. I had the same answer that if you play good cricket, you don’t need PR,” Dhoni said on Eurogrip Tred Talks.
Dhoni is poised to feature in his 18th season of the IPL later this year. Ahead of the major auction last year, the Chennai Super Kings secured Dhoni’s services for INR 4 crore.
