Jan. 6 committee member snaps back at GOP official demanding Democratic probe
WASHINGTON — Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) is lodging her own accusations against a fellow member after he said he would like an investigation into the House Select Committee that probed the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Punchbowl News reported on Tuesday that Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) would like to see a select committee to investigate the select committee. "Loudermilk had already used his House Administration subcommittee to delve into the topc," the report said. "But with Trump coming back into office and vowing political retribution over the issue, it's clear Republicans want to keep investigating investigations."
Lofgren spoke to Raw Story, recalling the congressman's involvement in giving a tour of some unusual locations to Jan. 6 attackers in the day before. Some officials have alleged that Loudermilk was helping the rioters "case" the Capitol.

“Loudermilk, I've always wondered, what was he doing with the rioter the day before?” Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) said. “I mean, he never answered. I'm not saying anything, we just said, ‘what was this?’ And he never answered.”
“But if you see the video, I mean, this guy's taking pictures of the tunnel, of the stairwell and the next day he shows up calling for Nancy Pelosi to be murdered,” Lofgren added. “What was that about?”
“I mean, I don't want to investigate Barry but just to ask him a simple question, which he never answered,” Lofgren continued.
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) supports the Laudermilk probe, claiming the committee "suppressed witness testimony that was exculpatory or contradictory to their chosen narrative. So those types of things really would be important to understand what really took place."
“You really would like to find a place where you can have common ground, but it just seems to get harder and harder, in my opinion,” Biggs added.
