TOPEKA (KSNT) - State officials are investigating an alert message that warned Kansans to stay home.
On Monday, Jan. 6, the Kansas Division of Emergency Management said it was trying to determine the cause for an Emergency Alert System (EAS) message that was sent out on Jan. 5.
Officials said the same message had been sent twice and that there was an error in the EAS system.
"We apologize for any confusion and are trying to determine the cause. Thank you for your understanding," Adjutant General's Department Director of Public Affairs Jane Welch said.
